The tree itself
Height, species and trunk size set the baseline. A tall eucalypt with a wide trunk takes more time, rigging and people than a small ornamental tree. The condition of the tree matters too. A dead, split or storm-damaged tree is less predictable and often needs a slower, more careful approach.
Where it stands on your block
Winmalee properties sit in Blue Mountains bushland, so access can shape the price as much as the tree does. These are the questions an arborist asks on site:
- Can machinery reach the tree, or does everything go through the house?
- How close are buildings, fences or power lines?
- Does the slope or surrounding vegetation limit where limbs can fall?
- Is crane-assisted removal safer than climbing and lowering sections by hand?
Permits and waste
Council rules need checking before any tree removal, and the permit process can add steps to a job’s timing. Disposal also counts, so ask whether green waste and clean-up are part of the quote.
Price follows the job’s complexity, not the tree’s size alone. Once we’ve seen the tree and the access, there are no surprises.
