The crew starts with a site check. They look at the stump’s size, how far decay has set in and where the machine can reach, then mark out any irrigation lines, pipes or cables to avoid.
Access is sorted next. Side gates, steep slopes and tight garden beds all affect which grinder is used, and the team clears loose debris and rocks from around the stump before starting.
Grinding then takes the stump down below ground level, working in passes. Soft, rotten wood usually breaks up faster than solid timber, though buried roots can still take time.
Once the grinding is done, the crew rakes up the mulch and removes it with the rest of the green waste, with disposal included. The hole is filled and levelled so the spot is ready for turf, planting or paving.
