Stump size and thickness
Size is the biggest cost driver. A thick, fibrous palm trunk base takes more machine time and labour than a small stump, which is why a large palm stump sits toward the upper end of the $150 to $600 range. The price reflects the job in front of the crew rather than a flat rate.
Equipment and crew
Smaller stumps may need little more than a chainsaw and a compact grinder. A large palm stump usually calls for heavier grinding equipment and a bigger team, and that adds to the price. Trees Down Under uses AQF Level 3-5 certified arborists, fully licensed, insured and Cm3 certified, so the work is done safely and to standard.
Access and stump size decide how long the job takes. Once we’ve seen it on site, the price is clear and there are no surprises.

Location and paperwork
A stump in a crowded garden, tight side access or among established plants takes longer to reach and grind. Some areas also add council fees and paperwork, particularly if the tree before removal needed a permit. Check council requirements first, or let the team advise during your free on-site quote.
