Stump grinding on a Faulconbridge property follows a short, set sequence: inspect, grind below ground level, then clean up. Our AQF Level 3-5 certified arborists work through it the same way on every block.
Site check and access
The arborist first walks the site to find the stump, its roots and any buried services. Sloping and bushland blocks get extra attention here, because the grinder needs a stable, safe path in. Tight side access and steep ground are common around the foothills, and we plan for them before any machinery moves.
Grinding and root handling
- The stump is ground to a set depth below the surface, so the ground can be levelled or replanted.
- Large surface roots are followed and ground out where they would get in the way.
- On a slope, the machine is positioned and braced to stay steady.
On a sloping or bushland block the grinder has to sit safely first. We set up for the ground, then start cutting.

Clean-up and woodchip
You can keep the woodchip to use as mulch on garden beds, or we can take it away. Either way, the area is left tidy and ready to turf, plant or build on.
