Can the grinder reach my stump, and what happens to the hole?
Most Kenthurst stumps can be reached, including many in back yards with side access. Narrow gates, steep slopes and tight garden beds affect which machine is used, so these are checked at the quote visit.
Once grinding is done, the stump sits below ground level in a shallow hole filled with woodchip mulch. That mulch can be left to settle, spread through garden beds or taken away as part of the clean-up.
Does the quote visit slow things down?
The quote is where timing is confirmed, not delayed. The arborist checks access, stump size and nearby fences or services, then gives a firm price. Because the grinding date depends on the schedule and conditions, it is confirmed on the day rather than promised in advance.
What if the tree is still standing?
A stump can only be ground once the tree is down. If the tree is still standing, it needs to come out first, and council rules can apply. Before any removal is booked, check the tree preservation requirements with The Hills Shire Council. Trees Down Under can inspect the tree, explain the permit position and handle the work in one visit.
Grinding a stump below the surface lets you replant, lay turf or build over the spot without digging out the roots.
